John Bougearel is the Director of Futures and Equity Research at Financial Futures Analysis and author of Structural Logic’s Financial Newsletter. He has logged more than 13 years of experience across a broad array of exchange-traded financial futures and securities markets. His primary role is to consult with and provide research for hedge funds, wealth management firms, brokerages, and banks on the US and global equity indexes, individual equities, US Treasuries and global fixed income markets, as well as the energy, precious metals, and grain markets.
A brief background about the trajectory of his financial career as a financial market analyst: in 1995, he began working with trading groups in the S&P 500 and 30-year treasuries. From that point forward, he has been working with professional investors and risk managers in the capacity of a commodity trading advisor (CTA). In 2000, he launched his Structural Logic newsletter. His newsletter provides his clients with market research and insights that they can use profitably in their own investing and trading. Structural Logic’s goal is to meet the informational needs of active investors and traders, hedge funds and other risk managers and institutional clients.
In September 2001, he published "Don’t Fight the Fed, You Just Might Win" in Futures Magazine when Fed policies were clearly not working as intended. In May 2001, he published "No Cure for Mad Dow Disease" in Futures Magazine when the Dow was on the cusp of its biggest bear market since 1974.
Specifically, Structural Logic’s newsletter provides event-driven research for portfolio and risk managers. Clients can and do generate their own investment strategies from the analysis. The newsletter allows John to alert clients when upside risks are considered to outweigh the downside risks and vice versa in a broad array of markets not limited to equities. Always, the primary intent is to deliver relevant and actionable market information in a timely manner to clients.
Structural Logic is a risk management tool for professional traders and investors to overlay with their own investment goals and risk management strategies. It is ideally suited for many types of traders. The goal is to help them better manage their bottom lines.
